Richard III Synopsis:

Long ago, in England, two noble families struggled for control of the English throne. The House of Lancaster, with its emblem of a white rose, and the House of York, its symbol being a red rose, plotted against one another for the crown in a struggle known as The War of the Roses. While King Edward IV sat upon the throne, a struggle for power began within his own family, within the House of York. Richard, Duke of Gloucester, became jealous of his brother's power, and decided to plan and scheme until the crown was his. Doing away with his brother Clarence, thereby aiding in the death of King Edward, and murdering Edward's two sons, Richard is crowned King Richard III. But as soon as the crown is his, the House of Lancaster, under the leadership of Henry, Earl of Richmond, raises an army, defeats Richard, and claims the throne as their own.
