Students will learn about the ways in which plants are grown for food, the advantages and disadvantages of organically grown and produced food, and harvesting methods of plants. 5 pages. Success Criteria: identify places and ways in which plants are grown for food recognize the advantages of locally grown and organically produced food recognize the disadvantages of locally grown and organically produced food describe the growth process of an edible plant from seed to maturity using illustrations and written descriptions explain how and when an edible plant is harvested identify jobs that are related to the plant growing industry Suggestions for differentiation are also included so that all students can be successful in the learning environment.
