Julius Caesar Synopsis:
Long ago, in Rome, members of the senate were growing increasingly worried about the popularity of the great general, Julius Caesar. When Caesar is offered the emperor's crown, the rebellious senators act, some for political reasons, others out of their love for Rome and its institutions. They assassinate ,Julius Caesar on the Ides of March, as a soothsayer had predicted. Those loyal to Caesar, such as Marc Antony, raise an army to hunt down and bring the conspirators to justice. Eventually, all of the conspirators are caught and killed, although a few opt for suicide, such as Marcus Brutus, the "noblest Roman of them all". To restore order, Caesar's nephew, Octavius, agrees to rule Rome, as part of a triumvirate that also includes Marc Antony and M. Aemilius Lepidus.
