4 lessons teaching the "sh, ch wh, and th" digraphs. These digraphs are voiceless continuants. Each lesson plan will teach the auditory and visual recognition of the digraph in the initial position and reinforce word attack skills using the digraph.
Each lesson includes a teacher introduction, teaching objectives, a picture card, and 3 worksheets. Teacher-directed instructions include auditory exercises for whole group instruction. A story helps introduce the blend and can be displayed on a SMART Board (or another interactive whiteboard) for whole group instruction.
Tests:
Provided in this section are visual and auditory tests or reviews that can be used to measure your students’ skills in the visual and auditory recognition of the digraphs taught. This activity will test the visual and auditory recall of the digraphs in the initial position. It is important to test or review the initial digraphs at the end of all lessons. Students should be able to recognize the sound made and the letters of the digraphs "sh, ch, th, and, wh" in the initial position.
