Students will learn about the relationship between force, area, and pressure for different fluids as related to Pascal's Law.
Additional Materials needed to complete the experiments:
- 2 small syringes, 2 medium syringes, 2 large syringes, a beaker, different lengths of plastic tubing, a spring scale, 2 retort stands with clamps, a 100g – 500 g mass, a ruler, a jug of water (for each group of students)
- small, thin pieces of wood, wood doweling, thin wire
- a few hammers, a few hand drills, a few pliers
- class set of safety glasses, and work gloves
- paper fasteners, elastic bands, white glue, nails, screws, nuts and bolts
- calculators, pencils, pencil crayons, chart paper, markers
- iPods, iPads, Macbooks, a video camera (optional), access to the internet of research
